Risk Disclosures
Digital assets and protocol-related services involve material technical, legal, operational, and economic risks. Read these disclosures with the Terms of Use and VLM Token Disclaimer.
General nature of digital assets
Digital assets can be difficult to understand, may be volatile, may lose value, and can be subject to legal, technical, and market events outside your control. Transactions can be irreversible, and assets can be unavailable if a private key, recovery method, or access credential is lost or compromised.
Technology risk
Protocol software, smart contracts, wallets, networks, dependencies, and integrations can contain bugs, vulnerabilities, configuration errors, or design limitations. Network outages, congestion, hard forks, validator or node failures, and changes to underlying standards can interrupt or alter functionality.
Market risk
Any market value of VLM, if one exists, is not tied to a guaranteed price, reserve, redemption right, or promised yield. Market depth and continued availability are not guaranteed. Digital-asset prices may change rapidly or become unavailable.
Liquidity risk
You may be unable to buy, sell, transfer, convert, or otherwise use a digital asset when desired. Liquidity may be absent, limited, fragmented, or dependent on third parties. Transfer restrictions, security incidents, and legal changes can further limit activity.
Regulatory risk
Digital-asset frameworks are evolving. Regulatory authorities, including bodies associated with EU MiCA, the US SEC, the US CFTC, tax authorities, and local regulators, may adopt or apply rules that affect classification, availability, transfer, disclosures, reporting, or participation. Requirements can differ by jurisdiction.
Custody & key management risk
You are responsible for evaluating any wallet, custodian, key-management method, recovery arrangement, and authorization procedure you use. Loss, theft, phishing, malware, internal error, or compromise of credentials may result in irreversible loss or unauthorized transactions.
Compliance / KYC / AML risk
If participation gates apply, access may require identity, sanctions, anti-money laundering, source-of-funds, or other compliance review. A review may delay, restrict, suspend, or deny access. Requirements can change as law, counterparties, or risk assessments change.
Third-party dependency risk
Protocol-related activity can depend on custodians, cloud providers, oracles, node operators, networks, issuers, verifiers, standards bodies, and other service providers. Their failure, withdrawal, terms changes, errors, or security incidents can affect availability and outcomes.
Forward-looking statements
Roadmap items, plans, targets, technical descriptions, and statements about future functionality are forward-looking and are not guarantees. Actual development, availability, timing, and results may differ due to technical, legal, commercial, operational, or other factors.
